If you're freezing your *ss off through the Ottawa winter the coolest gig in town is the West Quebec Wheelers Roller Racing nights. I went last night to the first one of 2009. I kinda couldn't get into it, I'm not sure why. But it's very cool. It was great to see everyone–especially Werner.

For some reason I really don’t like doing laundry. Yesterday I did a big load of bed linen, because I had to. The duvet cover wasn’t quite dry when I took it out of the dryer. I hung it up on the railing to dry over night. This morning, as I was waking up, I heard Fred outside the bedroom door. She was wretching — as she does. It really is a horrible sound, and I feel bad for the poor cat. It seems like it hurts. It also makes me want to be sick.

Anyhow, later I get up, open the door, look down so I don’t step in the vomit on the floor in the hall. I don’t see any vomit, I assume Sheri cleaned it up before she left for work — I know, shocker, but that’s what I thought. Day goes on, I’m drinking coffee, typing in the office etc. I walk by the duvet and decide to pick it up to see if it’s dry so I can fold and put it away. I see a stain, hmmm did that not come out in the wash? No, it’s lumpy. Strange. What’s this?

The duvet was hanging “just so” and one side was gently touching the floor as it was drapped over the railing. Fred had climbed in the duvet opening, crawled into the middle of the duvet and vomitted inside. Ahhh, yeah it was gross.

So if you want her, or know of anyone who wants a cat, give me a call. She’s free to a good home. She can be sweet on her terms. She sleeps mostly. She doesn’t play. She does like being a lap cat. When she sits on you – you can pet her head and head only, maybe scratch under her chin. Don’t get sucked in if she rolls over on her back, looking cute and purring — if you touch her belly she will attack you. She loves milk, but if you give it to her she will vomit. She vomits once a day on average, it’s a disturbing sound. She hates all other animals and is very antisocial. She ‘hisses’ a lot for no apparent reason. She is not safe around children. She doesn’t really go outside. She might be good pet for someone single or a couple with no children who don’t expect much from a pet and don’t mind cleaning up (the regular vomit). You should also wear shoes in the house all the time as she may randomly attack your feet when walk by. She seems friendly enough to guests, but you have to make sure they get the ‘proper petting instructions’. Oh, and she sheds a lot.
