- Contrasts
Today was my last day of tuning up before I head off to Philly. I did a 30min trail run with Dot (dog). I thought it would be neat to compare and contrast my day with Jake’s. So here goes.

@isiva muchas gracias ;) # - A quickie with Dot
Today just may have been the busiest work day I’ve ever had! But it was fun. Anyhow it did mean I had no time to go for a ride, which I’m a bit choked about. I did get out for a run at the end of the day with Dot. I’m feeling really good on [...]
- Just so you know
I didn’t do anything today. I was going to head out for a ride with Sheri at the end of her day. But she came home a bit late, and then my calendar popped up a reminder of an appointment I had at 5:30. That meeting ran late and before you know it, it was [...]

- Turning point
Today I ran 30mins in the wood with Dot (the dog) and Sheri. Until today Sheri has been fitter than me running. However, I think I’ve hit the turning point in my fitness. The long ride on the weekend did the trick and I’m getting fitter and fitter. I felt great, good flow.

Wow…. you can spend 160.00 ea on water bottle cages these days. Whodathunkit? # - A rare occurance
Today I did one loop of the gatineau parc. 21km, 1hr and 8 mins. I went with Sheri. That is a pretty slow pace and that is not the rare occurrence. For some reason today when I rode I decided to wear a helmet! I have no idea why, but I think its because I [...]
- 40 Seconds at the Giro
Today’s Giro stage started in Arabba. Last year OneFatMan was there on vacation … since flickr now supports video I thought it’d be a kick to post this video from the Passo Campalongo. The Campolongo is just above Arabba and looks across the valley at the Marmolada—the highest point in the Dolomites— where today’s [...]

- Keeping up with the club
I created this dandy little snippet to search GoogleBlogs and GoogleNews to find news items about the club — the S-Team or Symmetrics. This page will always show the latest 20 news items from the internets related to Symmetrics for the last month as of now.

- Wa bonk
Today I did my favourite ride. But I’m not quite ready for it and got pretty tired in the last 30minutes and came home with a pretty bad bonk. Maybe that’s good, I haven’t bonked in a long time and it kind of felt good. Anyhow the ride was amazing and I did it in [...]

30min run in the woods. I felt awesome. Went out late in the day with Dot. Talked to Bucker on the phone for a while today.

Exciting finish at the giro today. I had dinner with Allesandro Bertolini in Como last year. # - 30 minute run
It was kinda rainy again today so I just went out for a 30min run again at the end of the day… with Dot the dog.

- Rainy run
It was raining today. I wanted to ride, but I don’t ride in the rain… because then I’ll have to wash my bike sooner. So I went for a 30min trail run with Sheri and Dot. Sheri runs a perfect pace.

Jake sent in these photos from the club’s trip to Mt. Hood last week.

I’ve been riding around Chelsea Quebec for a long time. The ‘loop’ around the Gatineau Parc is classic, but I’ve done it so many times it gets boring. I try to create little hybrids of it that I find more entertaining. Here was today’s ride. All in all it doesn’t really carve that much distance [...]

It’s raining. I want to go ride. I don’t ride in the rain. I guess I’ll drink instead. # - Lazy days
Today I woke up kinda un-motivated. I lounged around all day and started drinking beer at 2PM. Didn’t ride, didn’t run. Took a nap and watched movies.

As the youngman would say – my lady friend. I did a hybrid loop of the Gatineau parc in 1:20 or so. I’ve ridden outside twice and my crotch is so tore up from saddle soreness I can barely sit down. I think I’m just gonna try to keep riding 4 times a week and [...]
- Millar goes mental
From yesterday’s Giro stage. Who’d blame him really, I woulda done the same thing…
Tip: when your chain breaks with 1.2km to go in a Grand Tour stage and you are in the winning break, it’s OK to yell f*ck at the top of your lungs and hurl your bike as far as your rage driven [...]
- Guess what, today I ran
30 minutes in the woods, with Dot again. Yesterday I got sidetracked with life… I’m still struggling to get back into the routine after the trip to Georgia. I didn’t feel great today on the trail. And my ass is all tore up from one day of biking. You know, people always used to ask [...]

Today I went for my first ride outside. It was amazing. Not a cloud in the sky, 22C. I rode around the Parc de la Gatineau and there wasn’t a car in sight.

I got side-tracked today and didn’t do shit. Maybe tomorrow I’ll exercise twice. I just got my new Bryan Kest yoga DVD and want to try it out… after I, errrr, go running with dogs.

"I love deadlines. I like the whooshing sound they make as they fly by." Douglas Adams # - Flow
So today—as I was running through the woods with a dog again—I thought about what I miss the most about being fit. Flow. When you’re fit you can do things with a flow that isn’t there when you’re fat. Like today, I was plodding away all heavy and fat. I’m blown from the 11min uphill [...]
- Today I did cross training for Jake
30 min. run in the woods with Dot.
