More running with dogs

Today I did some more trail running with dogs. 30 minutes with Rua and Dot (Polka Dot). Today was a fantastic day. It was nearly 20C and sunny. I went running at the end of the day. I only wore a t-shirt up top and I could have worn shorts too, but I wore my running pants. By the time I got out the trails had been drying for 12hr or so, it was noticeably drier on the trails since yesterday. With that, and the fact I’ve done the same trails three days in a row now, I was able to run continuously today.

I didn’t have to stop to spot the trail, avoid puddles, walk around mud patches or poke my way through new construction. There is that new house going up in the middle of the trail, but I’ve now figured how to get around it efficiently without bush whacking. I really like how different the woods look from season to season and how it can be hard to find the path depending on the season.

So I had a great run. I didn’t even walk the hills today, I just tried to keep it smooth and steady and run everything. I ran my loop a bit faster today as a result. And after three days of running I don’t seem to have sore muscles anywhere–another good sign.

Dot seems to like to pee in puddles—but then who wouldn’t enjoy that?
