Closet

Ever since Sheri and I moved into our house I've hated the front hall closet shelf. It was a skanky piece of 1970's particle board with some kind of mack-tack or wallpaper on top. It was  bendy in the middle and  just plain bad. Today I finally got around to fixing it. It only took 12 years to complete the project. That may be  a procrastination world record?

I had some wood kicking around from another home project and it only took about 2hrs to cobble together a nicer shelf. I got to use my new table saw, my compound miter saw and my pneumatic nail gun all in one project. Maybe that is why I never got around to it? It would have taken 12hrs to do with hand tools, or it would have taken 'me' at least 12hrs with hand tools.

I'ill admit there were no 'compound miter' cuts in this project. Simple chop cuts did the job – I can only build 'the simplest thing that can possibly work'.
